Leading Pedestrian Interval Pilot Project

A new “leading pedestrian interval” (LPI) was installed at the Twelfth St and Third Ave intersection this week as part of a pilot project this fall. LPIs give pedestrians a head start to cross the road before the parallel light turns green; this increases the visibility of pedestrians and improves pedestrian-vehicle safety.
