REZONING APPLICATION FOR 810 Agnes Street and 815 – 821 Victoria Street (REZ00155)
WHAT IS THE REZONING (REZ00155) ABOUT?
An application has been received from Brookfield Development to rezone the subject properties to allow for development of a 33 storey high-rise tower with 352 secured market rental housing units.
The application has recently been revised to accommodate conversion to secure market rental housing units. The development continues to include design and construction of an adjacent community park at 824 Agnes Street; a publically accessible indoor community space (312 square metres /3,350 square feet) located on the subject property and co-located with the community park; and enhanced streetscape and pedestrian treatment on Victoria Street.
The application proposes to rezone the property from Multiple Unit Residential District (High Density) (RM-6B) to a site-specific, Comprehensive Development (CD) District. The rezoning application is consistent with the Downtown Community Plan and the Secured Market Rental Housing Policy. Following project revisions, the applicant completed re-engagement with key stakeholders and incorporated this feedback into the project design.
